Memories

Here is what you do...

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty cool (and funny) to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. :) If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments... Please Play! :)

Hi Karen,
Being your mom there are so many shared moments that it's hard to know where to begin. We could start when you suggested that I raise sheep instead of children. Or the shopping trip for shoes. How many shoes did you try on before you chose the grey flats? I think it was every pair at the mall. Remember your "Lawyer" dress? Your first "perm"?
How about the episode the day before you became a woman?
Snoopy? There were a lot of proud moments -- when you marched in the band, or sang in the spring concert. Your senior recital at Geneva - Wow! Graduation. Our time in Italy when Natalie was born. You are a beautiful mom, wife and daughter. I love you and miss you more than anything.

Hey Karen,

Like your mom, I have many happy memories of you and your sisters. I can still remember the first time I held you, you were the tiniest baby. Then you were the happiest little girl and a wonderful artist. Remember the page in the catalogue where you connected all the shirts with the pants and drew people, and all of your pregnate lady pictures. I may still have some of your early art work.
I remember that in Kindergarten you had to stand by the wall for telling the teacher that you were "hot as hell." Also, I remember that you refused to wear slacks to school because you were afraid that they would think you were a boy.
I remember your Pickey Fouse costume that you thought the little boy stole from you and you were still wearing yours. I remember Christmasses with your "special" Santa Claus. And the year that you received your baby Jesus doll. (Do you still have him?)
I remember how fast you grew up, the swim meets, the band, your first job.
I was then and am now very proud of you. You have grown into an amazing woman of many talents. God Bless you and your family.

Love, Aunt Mary

lol ok well this is a little more recent but involves one of our road trips which all seem to be following the same pattern of leaving early, an unplanned shopping trip enroute to a Stampin' Up! meeting and sitting inn a car for about 7 hours instead of the planned 4 1/2 or so and a lot of uk traffic jams on the m5. we should be banned from mosoon and ikea, I'm sure our husbands would agree with that!
